About 10 years ago I attended a workshop for health insurance agents where, for the first time, I was shown in detail exactly how Medicare works. I was shocked to realize that even though I had been a life and health insurance agent for over 34 years, I had (until then) absolutely no understanding of how Medicare is set up or what seniors need to do to enroll correctly. I figured that if I, as an experienced health insurance agent, was totally clueless about Medicare, then the average senior must be even more in the dark. Soon after that, my sister, who is intelligent and has a college degree and has taught herself how to master several complicated DIY home repair projects, shared with me that she felt completely confused and unsure what to do as she enrolled in Medicare. Likewise, a good friend of mine who has a PhD in Education confessed that enrolling in Medicare was one of the most painful and complicated processes he had struggled through in years. That's when I decided to specialize in Medicare enrollments and to help guide others as they navigate the confusing landscape of Medicare. My goal is to help seniors understand Medicare and find the best Medicare options for their specific needs.
I specialize in Maryland Medicare options (every state has different products and rules) and I have come to know the local portfolio of available Medicare products quite well. My goal is to simplify the process of enrolling (or switching) Medicare products for my clients, saving them hours of research and often saving them money as well.
I take the annual Medicare AHIP certification (required by CMS: U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) for agents who wish to write Medicare Advantage plans and Prescription Drug plans.
I understand that choosing one's healthcare coverage is among the most important decisions a person can make—especially in their senior years. I take it extremely seriously that clients rely on and trust my guidance to find the best plan for their needs. I am honored to have their confidence and I do my utmost to find and present the very best plans for their particular situation.
